TUTORIALS

Tutorial 4 | Double Exposure

In this tutorial, we were taught the basics of double exposure using the following images.

Fig 4.1 Images | Week 5 (26/10/23)

I then attempted to recreate the double exposure and settled on using a purple filter to finalize the artwork.

Task 2 | Exercise 2 (Photo Manipulation)

For exercise 2, we are to do a photo manipulation of 2 objects that closely resemble each other in look and texture.

(i) Sketches

For my sketches, I initially planned to do a photo manipulation of either a hedgehog or a cat. However, upon noticing that my peers had the same idea of merging a cat with a loaf, I opted to focus on the hedgehog instead.

(ii) Photo Manipulations

For my final options, I decided to do a photo manipulation of either a hedgehog with a sea urchin or a durian to represent the spikes on its body.

FEEDBACK

Week 7

Mr. Martin liked my sketches and suggested proceeding with the hedgehog and durian as they resembled the Malaysian fruit.

Week 9

Mr. Martin approved the photo manipulation and suggested adding shadows while changing the durian colour to brown to match the colour of the original back of a hedgehog.

REFLECTIONS

This was a fun exercise because it allowed me to further explore the tools that Photoshop has to offer. It also enabled me to expand upon multiple ideas when it came to photo manipulation.
